Basically Chuck’s whole legal mess was a hail mary pass that missed. He was hoping after he filed Gawker would just cut him a check and tell him to hit the bricks, but they decided to fight back and suddenly CCJ and his lawyer are caught off guard trying to build a case they thought they’d never have to argue.

I still think had he sued for $1m they might have settled. $66m? No way.
