There were almost no regulatory issues regarding environment in Smith’s day, and on a moral level he was opposed to abuses of workers. He’s basically misunderstood by everyone citing him in defense of laissez faire.

Exactly, isn’t lasissez-faire more less an interpretation of his contemporary, David Ricardo or am I thinking of someone else?
