Just what are opponents proposing should be done about the project at this point? We see plenty of emotional generalities and over-the-top rhetoric from them but exactly what steps do they advocate for stopping the project? Do they think the New York authorities can be persuaded to rescind their approval, creating an unprecedented legal crisis? Do they expect some kind of extraordinary and almost certainly illegal intervention from another level of government?
