South Korea to reportedly start drills in hours, residents go to shelters

South Korea will reportedly start artillery drills in the coming hours which have the potential to start a much larger conflict on the Korean peninsula. The South Korean military plans to fire artillery from the island of Yeonpyeong near the border fo North Korea. The last time the South Koreans conducted similar drills on November 21st the North Koreans barraged the island with over 200 artillery shells killing two South Korean marines and two civilians. While the South Koreans have said they will fire artillery away from the border with North Korea, the North Korean government has still threatened to attack with even more force if the South follows through with their plans.
