I don’t know, I don’t think it’s “suppressing free speech,” but at the same time I do think that last night’s virtually silent debate was a bit eerie. It didn’t seem like they were having a debate, but instead participating in a 2-hr campaign commercial.

Way I see it, you have to have one or the other, either audience participation or a moderator who can actually grill the candidates.
