My husband and I hosted Thanksgiving and Christmas orphan parties for years that were so much fun. We’d have folks spilling out of the house, sitting on the stairs or even soaking in the hot tub with plates in hand. This is my first orphan party since my husband’s death - just decided it was time. Don’t even know several of the people coming so it could get interesting.

That’s really sweet. My mom used to do that. Somehow she would meet international students or strike up a conversation with a poorer person and before we knew it we’d have 20 people at Thanksgiving that we’d never met.
