Trump on his own might have been controllable to a degree. But Trump’s power depends on his base, and it is comprised almost entirely of whackos and loose cannons…they are starting to come unraveled…

TBH it’s been all downhill since he actually had to start being President. Read a great quip from a Dem strategist this morning- Trump wins in reality TV, he loses in reality. Basically when Trump controls the game, he wins but when reality kicks in I.e. the Mueller Report and actual Presiding, he loses and it’s been mostly the latter since November 2016 for him. He hasn’t once had over 50% approval and he has few accomplishments and the few he had were done independent of him.
