I suppose that Trump can dismiss his lawyers, but then he will have to proceed on his own without them until he finds replacements, he cannot expect to be given any extra time…

Or, as I said, the judge can literally tell them, “As officers of the court, I am ordering you to be his court-appointed representation.” I’m a bit murky on the details of payment if the client wants to change representation and the court refuses to allow it, but I recall a case where it has happened in recent memory from Lawsky, I think. I’d have to do some adept searching to find it, though.
