They’re huge; I was surprised.

Once in Berlin, I was helping a neighbor clean out his basement storage, and this spider, a good sized one - though nowhere near as big as a huntsman spider - took one look at me and came right for in some kind of weird, arachnoid banzai charge.

I quietly squished it.

We have loads of spiders here in the backwoods, but the wolf spiders will occasionally charge.
Sometimes I mistakenly use the wrong end of the shotglass in my attempt for a humane capture & release.
And sometimes my foot moves faster than my hand…
