OT, kind of. In the movie “Muriel’s Wedding” one of the bridesmaid’s boyfriends is a handsome beachbum guy who it turns out is a sexual preditor and rapist. When a young Japanese female tourist is raped, he is charged with the crime. His girlfriend says, “he couldn’t be the rapist, he hates the Japanese!” Her reaction is the logic of a lot of white Americans toward racism: “he’s not a racist, he just hates all ______.”
