Some wingnuts have actually been suggesting it would be a great idea to put money on Romney on Intrade because they could somehow both influence the election and make money!!!! Sadly, it isn’t legal for Americans to bet on Intrade, so as law abiding citizens they just can’t bring themselves to get this free money.

Americans bet on Intrade all the time, nothing illegal about it that I’m aware of under federal law. The website itself couldn’t be operated inside the US, and there may be individual state laws that affect its customers.
