Actually it might be. We have a dead body. We have a man who entered an area while armed in pursuit of someone else. We know he did so despite police dispatch advising him not to do so, and telling him police were on the way. We have proof positive that this man killed the someone else.

The entirety of the defense is not “he didn’t do it” but what amount to a claim that Zimmerman was in the right, and the vast majority of that claim is based upon Zimmerman’s claims.

That is a strong case, and if the forensics people had been there right away and on the spot, they could have built a much stronger case against him.

But now, unfortunately, it looks like reasonable doubt will win the day.
