re: #264 SasyMomaCat

The older cat with thyroid issues got a radioactive iodine treatment about 18 months ago. He’s doing fine, and started putting weight back on immediately. His main issue now is high blood pressure and he gets pills for that.

The “new” cat was diagnosed with hyperthyroid a few months back. She didn’t react well to the pills, but now gets a gel rubbed on her ear twice a day and we’re seeing how well that works out.

I use the heating pad “trick” as well. Set up on an office chair in the one room and that is the older cat’s default hang-out spot. Warm spot to snooze, and can get to window sills or the bed from there easily. Also in a spot where he can monitor traffic in the apartment, which is an important part of cat overlord duties.
