I haven’t had latkes. I have heard of them, just never had the opportunity. I did a Google and saw an image of latkes. They appear to have visible potato strips like a hash brown. They do look tasty.

I searched for a Slovak recipe and found a good image very close to what the family used to make. A link too, if anyone interested. And check the actual Slovak name…very similar to latke. It’s a small world.

Our Irish equivalent was much thicker, about the same dimension as a regular pancake but much denser. Sometimes served with salmon cakes and a white sauce for meatless Friday.
