Hey if talking about it would move congress I’d go 10,000 comments back and forth with my fellow lizards who look a little or a lot askance at firearms.
Unfortunately I’d need to get a lot more wealthy pals to overcome the big NRA $$. Universal registration is the top of my list. It’s the kind of law that would make it less likely I’d need to use the gun away from the range.

I like shooting. I want to own a gun or guns for sport/target shooting. But I am sick and fucking tired of waking up every day wondering if a cop is going to get shot, or if kids are going to get shot, or if some dumbass is going to shoot up his family or his workplace. I just can’t do it anymore. If it means I don’t get to keep a gun that I can take out on the farm and shoot at my leisure, well, I’m getting to the point where I just might be able to deal with that.
