If you go look at the original, it just says you should have to take a college level civics test. It doesn’t say you have to finish college.

But, for me personally, I think the level of the job ought to require some level of education and experience that coincides with the job. For example, Justice of the Peace. I’ve seen 18 year olds get elected. I think you ought to prove you know what the job requires before you run for it.

Still opposed to tests for office, for the reason I gave above (Jim Crow laws).

I don’t care to see a bunch of conservatives writing and administering so-called “civic tests” like they did in the Sixties to deny African-Americans the right to vote or hold offices.
