I can leave the Bible part out and just say that Donald Trump and the GOP are doing the opposite of what moral people would do.

No one seeking help (asylum) would be thrown in prisons by moral people.
No one seeking a “more perfect Union” would try to undermine its principles.
No one would treat more than half of the populace (women and minorities) as unequal to white men.
No one would lie to enrich themselves (the Tax Scams of Reagan, the Bushes, and Trump).

Conservatism by its nature seeks to maintain the status quo. For the overwhelming majority of humanity, that was aristocracy on top, serfs on the bottom. It was only the Enlightenment breaking free of the shackles of religion and aristocracy which declared “all people’s rights are worth something.”

Our nation has often fallen short of that lofty position, but it has always striven to attain it. Conservatism throughout the nation’s history has sought to return to an aristocracy and serfs.

Conservatism is the ideology which longs for a new Dark Age, where the “correct” people have rights and the lives of the rest only matter to the extent the aristocracy needs them to maintain power.

Gaining and maintaining power is always the goal of conservatism, in all times and all nations, to maintain the status quo of the “right” people ruling.
