I remember when Blackmun was appointed to the Supreme Court; he and Burger were christened the “Minnesota Twins”; he was reliably conservative at the beginning, but then he came under the wing of Brennan and his positions ultimately were transformed.

This hope is probably in vain but RBG seems to be friends with Kavanaugh; maybe she can accomplish the same miracle.
