I think if you are visiting as a guest at another faith’s house of worship, it’s a courtesy to observe those customs. However, when a policewoman is on official business, she should not be required to adopt the outward form of a religion she does not belong to.

If she’s in a house of worship— and a mosque is a house of worship— even if she’s on official business she should observes the custom. It’s about showing respect and being polite.
