You are conflating the religious with the political- and that is exactly what the extremists on every side want to happen.

What extremists on both sides want is a final bloodbath that will give their side some kind of total victory over their ‘inhuman’ enemy. This happens on both sides, and it’s very sad to see people who ought to know better unconsciously aping the rhetoric of the likes of Geller and Spencer.
