I hate to say it, but UpChuck’s right about the media always misreporting guns.

Case in point: A local newspaper reports on a car crash where several firearms were found in the vehicle. One of the weapons was ‘a machine gun.’ A version of the story I saw earlier stated the ‘machine gun had a silencer.’

Obviously the reporters had not the slightest idea of what they were talking about.

But that’s not Chuck’s point. He thinks the media are faking and exaggerating reports about gun violence, not just getting the terminology wrong.
