There is a panic over opioids but there is no alternative for pain management other than “tough it out!” and “do yoga!”

They try to push the serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors class drugs (Cymbalta, etc.) as pain managers. My buddy the dog trainer was on it for some time. It was not good. He liked that it did stop some of his chronic back muscle issues…but the side effects were not good. It totally changed his mood from a happy-go-lucky type to a moody maudlin mess.
