We can’t ask the shooter now, but I suspect he learned about the ball game and just went out intending to shoot some Congresspeople regardless of their party. It’s not like you can always tell who’s a D and who’s an R by their appearance.

He apparently asked someone in the parking lot if the baseball players were Dems or GOP, so I don’t think he would have shot random Dems.
