re: #275 Blind Frog Belly White

But leaving aside kicking people while they’re down for just a moment, think about it - a lot of these folks saw the factories leaving and hunkered down, staying put as their prospects dwindled and with them their bank accounts and their home values. Trump told them he’d make it all better and in their desperation, they believed him.

Now he tells them their hometowns are dead, and they should all move.

The longer they stay, the harder it is to leave. If everyone is leaving and the town is dying, then there’s nobody to buy your house. For someone who is a homeowner, the bit of money they’d get from a sale would at least give them a nest egg to help start over in a new town (a way to cover rent and utilities while you search for a new job).

And that’s the other thing, it’s hard to get a (nonprofessional) job when you don’t live in the area. You submit an application or resume and the address you give is a two hour flight away, it’s hard to imagine it’s going to get past the first screening.
