The problem is that since he has had to run away from all his liberal actions as governor of MA, his business record is the only thing he has left to run on.

In fact, Romney’s political record places him uncomfortably (to the Right) close to Obama; only his years as a venture capitalist really separate him from the Community Organizer. And really this is a pretty tough sell to the general public, which is why the Romney campaign never talks about Romney very much. Nothing he has ever done, and that they can admit to, speaks to the average American.

Once the Republicans started demonizing the ACA, it became almost impossible for Romney, its inventor, to be elected. The only reason he hasn’t completely tanked yet is the weak economy.
