Last February Tuscon went through a cold snap with 17 degrees temps and 30 MPH winds. The city had to turn off their natural gas lines in 1/3 of the city due to reduced pressures in the lines because of heavy natural gas use. Lots of homes with frozen water lines along with a bunch of frozen engine blocks. They need this extra “green” power to substitute for limited natural gas supplies.
