This gives me a chance to get on one of my soapboxes:

So what if an athlete finds some way to enhancer her/his performance? The idea of banning “substances”, if pressed to its exhaustive coverage, would also include making sure each competitor gets the same food and medical coverage. After all, is it fair that some people can afford better food than others, or can afford better medical care than others?

This idea of banning “substances” is to me just an extension of the idiotic “War on Drugs”.

I agree with the no steroids thing. They are dangerous, not only for the athletes but for the people around them because of the rage issues the steroids cause/contribute to. If steroids are allowed then in order for any athlete to be able to compete he/she will also have to do them. Pro athletes in a lot of sports get their bodies torn up enough and pay for it for their lifetimes. Dying young(er) due to steroid use isn’t helpful to them or their sports.
