We name all creatures that are “off limits” as “baby’s”. Through the years, the dogs seem to understand.

Once a friend with a pet rabbit visited with said rabbit. Hunting dogs thought they were being given a gift (inside prey). Telling them that said rabbit was a “baby” solved all problems. They then sniffed ears and groomed pet rabbit.

Interesting.
