According to a friend of mine in Boston, this case is causing great consternation. For me, it’s giving me flashbacks to when I was studying the Underground Railroad in law school and there were several notable instances when Bostonians took matters into their own hands to keep escaped slaves from notorious slave catchers after the Fugitive Slave Act was passed in 1850.

If you want to see how weird and crazy it can get, just read about the Fugitive Slave Act and its aftermath, then amp it up by 100 for our interconnected world.

I don’t think you need to add a multiplier. The escaped slaves would have either been tortured or killed.
