Yeah, they’re big - and the key feature is that they’re no where near a community, so they’re acceptable. They just don’t want them sited near the Jersey shore (too close - as in less than 3-5 miles) because it might spoil the views, even though it makes more sense financially since it is significantly cheaper to do build ‘em in those waters than further out to sea, where the water depths and conditions make it more expensive to build and maintain.

Oh, and there’s still complaints that the wind power projects kill all manner of birds, waterfowl, and bats turning them into flying sashimi - and that some environmental groups are looking to kill those projects on those very grounds.

I’m pretty sure the wildlife will eventually figure it out. That has to be the lamest NIMBY line in the book.
