No, I wouldn’t want to go to court over this distinction. However, it remains worth making. Terrorists are the bad guys that you shoot or drone on sight and congratulate yourself for a job well done.

I had my fill of making all of the bad guys into ‘terrorists’ in the Bush years, and have seen no reason to change my mind since then.

This is about the very same, very real bad guys—not some doofus smuggling grass. If GG and Snowden get to reshape US intell gathering to their satisfaction, AQ can dance in the street. FISA and the PActs are over-reach. A sneak thief and a pulitzer-monger are not the solution.
