I almost got trampled at an Aerosmith concert. Outdoor concert in a football stadium (Orange Bowl) with Journey, Sammy Hagar, some others. Battle of the Bands thing. We were up front when the crowd starting pushing in from behind. The security upfront were keeping people away by, get this, squirting water at us with firehoses. So between the jam backward and the jam forward, I got literally lifted up in the crowd, out of my shoes and carried off. I’ll never forget that. Luckily I landed in a heap outside the crowd, minus my shoes.

And that’s when Joe Perry had already left anyway. Tyler & Co. were so freakin stoned, they couldn’t sing or play. It was very disappointing.

Get your feet off the ground. Grab shoulders, heads, hair (lots of hair back then) anything, just get your feet off the ground. If someone steps on your foot (and someone will) and you can’t move or if you trip it’ll be the end of you.

We went to an Aeorsmith concert to see the opening band, Heart, and left after Aeorsmith’s third song. They where a distorted, noisy mess.

Heart was fantastic.
