I thought he wrote another couple based on the independent South going with Germany in WW I and so forth. I know I saw them at book stores.

He did. but they were based on an alternate history in which Lee’s “Lost Order” of the 1862 Maryland campaign is not lost and the Army of Northern Virginia routs the Army of the Potomac in the battle that eventually results.
