If an alien from another planet were to be given that list he/she/it would summarize humans as animals who:

Live in a hierarchical society
of interacting tribes
who spend most of their time at war with each other
or who are preparing for such,
and are curious enough about the world around them to enumerate other living things.

And… that summarizes us quite well, I think.
