Seems to me that without DNA analysis, and animal that predates another by 60 million years is an example of evolution choosing similarly functional forms over and over again, which it has been shown to do everywhere.

A good example is the duplication of form between mammals and marsupials.

In the extreme we share DNA with T-Rex too, so I’m not sure where this find proves anything new.
