First, who was Limbaugh’s first choice in 2000? Not McCain certainly. Was it that walking wax figure Steve Forbes?

Second, I hope you’re right about his influence. But he still has the most listeners on radio and his toxic declarations find their way into the discourse WAY too often to just write him off. I mean, a lot of Republicans in Congress are reluctant to even criticize him…can’t really say that about many other media figures.
