The basic problem is that people don’t have faith that things will work out like that. Part of that is simple distrust of government. Too often we hear government agencies boast of their safeguards, only to find out later that the safeguards sometimes didn’t work. Those failures cause distrust.

I can understand that, although I have to say that if I discover that airport security have been laughing at my flabby, headless physique, or for that matter, whacking off to it, my degree of caring will still be exceedingly low.

But people are gonna have to make up their minds, because what I was hearing a lot of right after Christmas was ‘they have to make sure I can never die in a terrorist attack on a plane’. If these same people are now saying that they can’t possibly be scanned, we may have a problem.
