Looks like Jim Cantore will finally get that hurricane in NYC he wanted so badly.

Hey, if you have to cover a hurricane would you rather be in NYC or Houston? Or god-forsaken Florida?

Having grown up in the Midwest and currently residing in OK I’m somewhat bemused by the hysteria over 70 mph winds, to be honest. We lived in NJ during a hurricane that caused lots of flooding and beach damage years ago and I remember it’s being just a rain storm.

Hopefully it won’t hit the same time as the cold front, because icy cold rain sucks.

Lawhawk, can you explain why this storm has everybody so freaked out?
