China’s got its own set of problems, whether it’s shoddy construction or no protections for landowners against government takings, or building on speculation and you’ve got entire ghost cities because no one is living there (an attempt at induced demand).

The Chinese government is at least interested in building infrastructure. And they’re considering ways to reduce pollution (moving factories out of urban areas is one method, but shifting to less polluting methods and energy sources is another).

The GOP isn’t - and so the federal transit/highway budget is once again hanging in the balance.
