I’m old enough to remember when, if you wanted to wear something like that, you either wore it on Halloween, or you changed into it at your destination. Pre-Bill Gates, Pre-Revenge of the Nerds, before D&D was known well enough to become evil. And yes, I know how much was going on (One time, at band camp…).
