re: #291 Aceofwhat?

now, now. what you said was

what’s funny about the whole church thing is that there was an actual former preacher in the primaries and we did not hear one of his sermons.

if what you meant was what you wrote above, fine. i can only respond to what you said, though. if you didn’t hear one of his sermons, it’s because you didn’t want to.

at the risk of dredging up weak-sauce from the 2008 election that Naso Tang still clings to as if it were his blankie:

The point was is that the media was motivated, highly motivated, to comb through everything Wright ever did like they were looking for the Crystal Skull, twenty years of video tapes, anything to bring down Obama, anythign to sell advertising, any shred of rhetoric that could be used to scare and exploit the Christ out of white America. An angry black man connected to a black candidate? That is mainstream media gold for an election year. That’s a glittering pyramid of platinum.

Huckabee, on the other hand, never had to endure any such scrutiny, despite being a preacher himself. Because hey! Good old boy network. We know he’s square! Nothing suspicious about that guy!

Why is that? Why was Wright so much more scrutinized than any of the many crazyass preachers who have been attached to Republican candidates for decades? Why was he so much more scrutinized than an actual preacher *candidate*? An actual preacher, who I might add, has bonkers-radical outside the mainstream ideas?

There’s something on the tip of my tounge and it starts with R.

RRrrrrr…rrrr.r…rrrrr…can’t think of it….not quite there…
