Dirty little secret: Foster’s isn’t really that big in Oz these days and hasn’t been for a long time, IIRC. It sells more in “export” markets, because of their marketing campaigns.

My Aussie friend told me Fosters is the Budweiser of Australia. It’s funny when the local crap beer is shipped somewhere new and sold as a premium product, like Coors in the East in the 1970s.

I remember hearing that somebody in California was going to ‘import’ Rolling Rock as a premium beer, and about died laughing. Rolling Rock was what you bought when you couldn’t afford Genesee, and weren’t desperate enough to buy Iron City!
