I doubt it, a brokered convention would most likely result in Cruz as the nominee so someone else who hasn’t been running yet. The GOP are not that smart, but I think they are smart enough to know they have no chance of winning behind Kasich.

Are you forgetting no one in the party likes Cruz?

It may not be Kasich, but if it goes to a convention war it will be difficult for Cruz to get picked too.

I think the GOP knows that if they cater to the RWNJs with a Cruz they have zero chance to win an election.

They will take their chances with someone more middle-of-the-road party favorite. It might not work, but it will at least make them look less extreme and put them in a better position next time. It also could save them Congress.
