I don’t even think he is officially considered a “founder”.

Ron Chertnow did a great biography on him.

I can’t remember exactly, his wife may have inherited slaves …

Didn’t he have a big role in the Federalist papers and ratification of the Constitution? Too young to be involved with the Declaration yes but I think I’d count him as a founder. More so than John Quincy Adams like Bachmann did at least.
