So far here, they’re not so bad, but winds out on LI are getting pretty wicked. Already blizzard conditions (Islip Airport, Long Island has 30 mph winds sustained, with gusts to 39).

We’re probably in the same wind speed range as Teterboro. And I’m thankful for that given that we’ve got a pretty significant tree canopy that drapes over the power lines here.

MrBWS and his crews were ready to leave this morning, but the company said hold on, go to work your usual jobs today and we’ll wait and see.
After their 10-hour shift, they were told to pack their storm bags for possibly leaving at dark-thirty Tuesday morning.
Hubs is looking forward to maybe going back to Rhode Island because he really liked that area during that last bad Nor’easter, but I said maybe you’ll get back to Summit, NJ, where you spent two weeks after Sandy.
And he said that would be really nice because those residents were so great. (And I still have the crayon thank you card from one of the kids there and the scarf another Summit resident sent home with him for me, and an etching from an artist there that is now on the wall at the Local 71 Union hall in Columbus).
