What you’re seeing here is Free Speech, with “constraints as determined by Charles”, which is good and necessary.
I can think of a few other sites that do not have “constraints”..

The issue is to have a place for reasonable people to have reasonable discussions. The problem lies in the definition of reasonable.

I’ve been lucky so far, only had two posts deleted that I’m aware of.

Now that I’m getting more and more comments at zomblog and at YouTube video threads, I’m seeing with greater acuity the NEED to monitor comments closely, as Charles does. There are all sorts of threats and problems, from crazed extremists, to mobys, to trolls, to subtle deceivers and wild-eyed screamers, leftists, Islamists, racists and beyond. Things have gotten so bad, it’s practically impossible to tell who’s who and what’s what any more. (Which, I suppose, is part of the strategy for the mobys.)

The only solution is:

Delete them all, let Al Gore sort them out.
