I almost posted this story when it first appeared as another example of police overkill, but then I read more and saw that it was almost positively “suicide by cop” with the kid trying to provoke the police into shooting him by making multiple motions towards a real gun.

Given that the police were specifically informed that the kid was attempting suicide, I’d that was truly messed up situation, Where were the tasers and pepper spray, if nothing else?
