I don’t think it’s a fail, I think it’s entirely intentional and done by someone of the Pamela Geller mindset of trying to pissed off someone of another faith.

I remember Whole Foods putting out a Passover display of whole wheat bread and I don’t think it was intentionally anti-Semitic, just clueless.
