I used to respect the ACLU and, in fact, worked for lawyers who handled typical ACLU cases of the ’60s and ’70s, civil rights and so forth, Constitutional issues that had teeth in them and were for the good of individuals who were members of groups discriminated against traditionally over the years and defended their free speech issues as well.

I don’t know how to explain exactly how I see them today, but they’ve changed and I’m not so sure it’s for the better, even defending hate speech in a number of instances. Consider their position on Citizens United, for instance. aclu.org

I find I’m at odds with them on more issues than ever.
