So I wake up to the rumor going ‘round that Boehner thinks he’s found a way to head-off Reid, having the House put forth a short-term debt ceiling increase peppered with “one-to-one” spending cuts. Supposedly this is in response to the White House saying it’d be open to a short-term increase, with the predicted hopes that it’ll drive a wedge between the President and Reid.

They do understand that the President, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi talk to each other and won’t be played off each other like two parents with a spoiled child trying to manipulate them…right?
